AC for Dogs™ info

Contains Alpha-Casozepine

  • A natural ingredient that may promote calm behaviour in dogs
  • Recommended by veterinarians and behaviourists
  • Backed by science: click here to view studies

Easy to give

  • Can be sprinkled on or mixed into food
  • Palatable flavour (as you would expect from a milk-based protein)

Natural product

  • AC for Dogs is made from hydrolysed casein protein
  • We source our casein protein from New Zealand grass-fed dairy milk

Australian made and owned

We are an Australian company, and are proud to say that our production of hydrolysed casein (containing Alpha-Casozepine) was made possible through the CSIRO Australia Kick-Start program.

450mg per scoop*

*each packed scoop (approx. 2.5ml) contains Alpha-Casozepine at similar minimum levels to 450mg of trypsin hydrolysed casein in industry-standard formulations. Contains 30 packed scoops per Jar.

Packed scoops - measuring 15kg+ doses

  • Use 1 packed scoop per 15kg of dog weight.
  • For accurate dosing, each scoop of AC for Dogs™ should be compacted to ensure it contains a full 450mg dose.
  • Measure a packed scoop by firmly pushing your heaped scoop into the inside of the container 3 times in a row, before levelling it off.

Unpacked scoops - measuring less than 15kg doses

  • For dosing fractions of a scoop, it's difficult to use packed scoops. In this case, you can use 1 unpacked scoop per 10kg of dog weight.
  • Simply fill the scoop half way for a 5kg dog, or completely fill the scoop without packing it for a 10kg dog.
  • To measure an unpacked scoop, gently tap it against the side of the jar to even out the powder (don't compress it).
  • Please note that this method has more variation in dose, so for larger dogs, we recommend using packed scoops for accurate dosing.

Dosing instructions

  • For a simple dosing table, click here
  • Feed 1 packed scoop per 15kg weight of dog (press heaped scoop against inside of jar 3 times to pack)
  • For measuring part-scoops, use 1 unpacked scoop per 10kg
  • Mix powder into regular food or a treat (for fussy dogs, don't use dry food)
  • Feed once daily (ongoing) for dogs who regularly encounter difficulties in life
  • Always provide fresh water
  • *Please note that some dogs will respond at up to half of the doses recommended above. So 1 packed scoop (450mg) could be helpful for some dogs that weigh up to 30kg.

Ingredients

  • 100% Casein (Trypsin Hydrolysed Bovine)
  • Casein is a natural protein from cow's milk (we source ours from New Zealand grass-fed dairy milk)

Safety

  • Not designed to replace a veterinary behaviour consultation
  • We recommend you consult your vet before administering AC for Dogs™
  • Can be given to nursing bitches, as well as puppies
  • Always provide a source of clean fresh drinking water
  • Safe to give with any other medications including prescribed medical or behaviour meds.

Game changer

AC was a game changer for my 3 year old anxious chihuahua. After 2 years of antidepressants with little positive effect and lots of bad side effects, I tried her on AC. The change was almost instant. She is now a happy snuggly girl who eats food with AC in it with gusto. She's on 4 times the base dose for her weight and it's working wonders!

Hi Jenny, thank you for sharing your story! We're thrilled AC has made such a difference for your chihuahua, and your review inspires others facing similar challenges.

Fearful Fergie

Since Fearful Fergie has started on AC she has stopped being fearful!! It’s a relief to come home to a dog that isn’t cowering at the bottom of the yard yawning and shuddering her teeth. The incredibly destructive behaviour has totally stopped- she hasn’t eaten a house window sill since!!!
It’s very comforting to see Fergie calm and relaxed after her tough start in life as a rescue dog. Keep up the good work AC - you have changed this dogs life for the better!

Thank you, Libby! We’re so happy to hear that Fearful Fergie is now feeling calm and confident. Stories like this remind us why we do what we do! Give Fergie a big cuddle from us – we’re thrilled to have played a part in her journey.

First time used.

My daughter found this and is using for her pup so I thought I’d give it a go. My girl has it sprinkled on her dinner and down it goes.
Time will tell I guess. Definitely good value.

AC for dogs

I'm giving a four out of five as Jasper has only been using for about 10 days. So far he is showing signs of being a bit calmer when people come over, when he gets in the car and gets over the excitement of those mentioned quicker. A five is so close. We are very happy with the results.

Still on the trial - but hopeful!

My very anxious rescue puppy was put on 225mg of Zyklene and later added Amitryline by her vet behaviorist. He wanted to double her dose of Zyklene so I was pleased to learn about AC as it is much more affordable than Zyklene. We are adding a one scoop (unpacked) dose of AC in the evenings as a trial before weaning off the Zylkene and only using AC. My only problem so far is that it’s hard to get precise dosing using the scoop...I can’t be certain how much I’m actually giving her (11.5kg spaniel, 11.5 months old). I’d love a second smaller scoop for smaller dosing. Thank you for making this product.

Thank you for your review M.B.!
It sounds like you are off to a great start by seeing a vet behaviourist. If they recommended doubling the dose of 225mg Zylkene, then that would be equal to 450mg (225x2). So simply give 1 packed scoop daily to acheive the 450mg dose of AC for Dogs! It is perfectly safe to give above the guidelines on our packaging, if done under the guidance of a veterinarian.
Your spaniel is very lucky to have you caring for them!
